History

Established in 1978.

The Eyeglass Shop is locally owned and operated, we opened here in Ashland in 1990 by James Bailen aboc. Since we have moved to our current location at 200 main st w.

jim’s son rob made the move from northern waters ophthalmology in jan 2019 to join his father and keep the business in the family.

Meet the Opticians

Rob nearly grew up as an optician starting to work in a lens laboratory in the basement of their home producing eyeglass lenses since he was in junior high school. Working for many optometrists and ophthalmologists over his 38 years as an optician has been a great experience and gives rob a vast knowledge of what it takes to truly give you the very best products and services available. Rob is also ABO certified and loves to answer any questions and educate his patients. Rob is the current sitting Vice President of the Opticians Association of Wisconsin.
